This is the first episode in a short series of moto-vlogs, and today I am talking about the infamous motorcycle nod. I personally nod at anything on two wheels, and will occasionally give a subtle wave to any bike overtaking me. I think it is a really nice gesture, and I'm really interested in your views on "the nod". Do you nod? Are there exceptions to the nod? Do you hate the nod? Do you only nod to bikers in full protective clothing? I personally found I was getting more nods, since I've started wearing my protective clothing. Today's video is touching on an awkward topic: should motorcyclists have the right to keep their helmet on? I was staying in Crawley a few weeks back, and I was refused fuel until I removed my helmet. Yet the Jeep in front of me had 3 persons all wearing full face religious garments (completely covering their faces). Now on the principles that everyone should be able to wear what they want, I find it quite ridiculous that a safety device poses a risk, but full face veil doesn't? I just want to know your opinions on this, whether you think we should have to remove our helmets, or whether everyone should have to make their face visible. I personally think it would be interesting to return with a full face veil under my helmet, just to see the guys reaction. Thanks for watching, and I look forward to your comments! Today's video is my opinion on motorcycle camping, and encouraging others to give it a try. Personally I think motorcycle camping is great and one of the best ways to escape on the bike. Camping with a motorcycle gives you complete freedom, you have your accommodation, your kitchen and your transport. You can quite literally just load up your bike and disappear (and it is incredibly cost effective). Today I'm out riding around Sandbanks and talking about my early YouTube channels. When YouTube first became popular it was a place to watch food challenges & funny videos, and that is exactly how I began on YouTube. I am very glad to have moved away from those videos now, and finally started making videos doing what I enjoy - Motorcycling! Although my previous channels were far more successful than my motorcycle channel, it was a very big effort to force myself to make videos for the other channels. So the message I really want to spread from this vlog, is to make videos doing what you love! I also encourage you to film your motorcycle adventures, and build your own YouTube archive of memories. It doesn't have to be public, but it is a great place to store your videos, so maybe one day you can show your kids & grandchildren your old adventures. Just an idea.... Today I want to know if you prefer riding alone or in a group? I love the idea of riding in a group, but I have never found one that has worked for me. Today I want to know if you like using a top box or not. Some people prefer straps and cargo nets, but I like the convenience of a lockable top box. After a series of comments about my dirty motorbike, I have decided to share with you the reason why I don't clean my bike. I have received a lot of comments ranging from "This guy rides once a year because the bike has cobwebs" to "Your bike needs a clean". In fact I do clean my bike, but only before long distance tours (for extra safety checks). However, the reality is my dirty bike is a theft deterrent for some of the odd places I leave it. So today's video is just a short explanation of how a dirty motorcycle gives me extra piece of mind, when camping away from the bike. This is a list of motorcycle camping equipment for beginners. Today I give my opinion on expensive gear vs cheap gear. I have always had the opinion that expensive gear is the best up until the point I started using a Jetboil kettle. It was only then that I realised I preferred a cheap old whistling kettle, over a quality fast boil kettle. This is the first episode in a short series of moto-vlogs, and today I am talking about the infamous motorcycle nod. I personally nod at anything on two wheels, and will occasionally give a subtle wave to any bike overtaking me. I think it is a really nice gesture, and I'm really interested in your views on "the nod". Do you nod? Are there exceptions to the nod? Do you hate the nod? Do you only nod to bikers in full protective clothing? I personally found I was getting more nods, since I've started wearing my protective clothing. Today's video is touching on an awkward topic: should motorcyclists have the right to keep their helmet on? I was staying in Crawley a few weeks back, and I was refused fuel until I removed my helmet. Yet the Jeep in front of me had 3 persons all wearing full face religious garments (completely covering their faces). Now on the principles that everyone should be able to wear what they want, I find it quite ridiculous that a safety device poses a risk, but full face veil doesn't? I just want to know your opinions on this, whether you think we should have to remove our helmets, or whether everyone should have to make their face visible. I personally think it would be interesting to return with a full face veil under my helmet, just to see the guys reaction. Thanks for watching, and I look forward to your comments!
